Snow Crazy

It has been snowing since yesterday non.stop.
They are predicting we are getting 5 inches every.hour. EVERY.HOUR.
Can I run away from home? Am I too old for that?
Can I take a permanent paid vacation? Does such a thing exist?

The Snow is supposed to subside by Friday, maybe even late Thursday.
This is so depressing.

Last night Ryan made dinner, I was so happy. Even if it was something that I wouldn't make myself, I appreciate the gesture, even if it wasn't really for me. So in the end I made myself a breakfast burrito, it was nice to cook for one. Even if it's only for the night.

Last night our cat killed another mouse. Well kinda. He doesn't eat them or bite them. He just plays with them, until he gets bored. He then leaves me to do the dirty work...
I hate mice, they are so icky and carry so many germs. Yuck.
I also hate spiders, they are so gross and creepy.
I also really hate snakes. I never used to mind them until I moved here. Rattle Snake Central that is. My only good thoughts on the snow is it will hopefully kill the dastardly snakes.
For all you snake lovers out there I'm sorry but every Rattle Snake I see, I kill. Because if I don't kill it, it may kill me. So I do what my instinct tells me, I run them over.

I wonder what the Month of May will bring? You know what it's supposed to do "May showers bring May flowers."
In our case it could be "May snow storms bring May depression?"

Let's talk about food, to be more specific deserts. The Oooey Gooey Smore Bars I made are better the second day then straight out of the oven. I tested my theory last night!
The marshmallows on top are even more gooey and sticky, it's awesome.

Tomorrow is payday, that is always something I look forward too. That means I can put gas in my vehicle! Yay, I just love putting gas in my vehicle, it's like my favorite to watch my money go down the tank...
Yet another reason for me to look into working from home. Or at least closer to home, or at least a considerable raise and monthly bonus.

I'm so thirsty, I'm tempted to go outside and gather a pile of snow, just so I can melt it and drink it.

On May 11, 2009 the United States Postal Service rates will be going up. AGAIN. Gosh the post office sure is greedy these days. Sheesh, I remember the days when it was like .37 cents to send something.

My phone is ringing, I hate when that happens.
Goodbye forever, or until tomorrow, or until I get bored at work again, or until I get off the phone.

Power Outages?

This morning on the radio they said
"We are on a winter storm watch, until Thursday afternoon. We are expected anywhere from 8 to 15 inches and 4 feet in the mountains."
"This storm will be hard on livestock, roads, travel and may even cause several power outages."
I guess this means all the track meets scheduled this week are cancelled?
It's kinda hard to triple jump in 15 inches of snow I suppose.

So? Do I have anything to look forward to for the rest of the week? Doesn't sound like it....
I hope we have enough food stocked up in our pantry if we get snowed in.
If not, I will rest easy knowing I have plenty of Ramen Noodles. I will be okay, but I wonder what my husband will eat? Um, coffee??
I'll tell him he could detox with a liquid diet. Because it's like so cool right now and all the stars are doing it. (If only he'd believe me.)

For dinner tonight, I thought about being creative. What do I have in my fridge? Hmmm
Ricotta Cheese (Love that stuff), frozen spinach, artichoke hearts, eggs, biscuits, milk, ramen noodles....
this could be interesting. Not sure what I might throw together, if it's good I'll write the recipe down. If it's horrible, I always have mac and cheese to fall back on, that and cereal. (oh and brownies)

So do you have snow? If your answer is no.... why don't you go to the north pole, then you will know my pain that or send me a plane ticket, get me outta here!

Weekend Recap: 3 B's

My weekend consisted of the 3 B's.

1. Branding
2. Balls
3. Butts

Of course there is a story with each "B" are you interested?
Well either way I'm gonna write about it, because really it changed how I looked at the world.

1. Branding:
Saturday and Sunday both were dedicated to Branding.
Saturday we branded for the Ranch that we live on. It was fun, low key, and we got to eat really good food afterwards. All in all, it was a good day.
(Oh and after we went to town and Ryan demonstrated the impulsive humanly trait of burning money like it's going out of style. He bought a saddle. My only question "Can I get one two then?"
He said no.... and I threw a tantrum, in the middle of the store. Okay not really but you can imagine if I did. Saddle: Good buy, good price, good sale, it'll get lots of good use. Over all, good purchase.)
Sunday's Branding: We helped a friend of ours brand, and well it was fun and educational and very interesting. (and kinda cold too and really muddy. I was a mess, I looked homeless when we were finished.)

2. Balls:
Sunday's Branding brought on a whole new meaning to me. I've been to many brandings before, but this one is burned in my memory for life. Like forever man.
During Branding, the bull calves usually have to be cut (or castrated to be technically correct). There are many different ways, banding, cutting, sterilizing, etc.
I was introduced to a new way consisting of using the human mouth.
Yeah you read that right, "The Human Mouth"
Squeamish people, please stop here, because I'm going to explain in detail now. You've been warned!

The designated testicle remover was given a small knife and a bucket.
When this person (Phil) was called over by yelling "Bull Calf"
Phil would grab his bucket and small knife.
Kneeling by the stretched out calf, Phil would cut the ball sack, and expose the testicles. (that's normal, seen this a hundred times.)
Phil would then lean over and place testicle # 1 in his mouth. (Yeah MOUTH) And proceed to pull out testicle # 1 and spit it in the bucket.
Phil would then repeat this procedure to testicle # 2
Phil's reasoning was it's cleaner then using your hands.....
Please, please be dirty, it's okay I won't tell. I WON'T TELL.

When I witnessed this the first time, there were no words, no thoughts. Just dry heaving.
Then I thought, Did Phil really just do that? Oh my god, it that sanitary? That poor calf, has been castrated with a human mouth.... oh lord. Then the dry heaving would start all over again.

I've also learned to appreciate my tooth brush and the fact that my husband was just as creeped out as I was. (Thank you Lord, for he will not try this method himself!)
Are you sick yet? I still have 1 more B left.... Hello? HELLO?? Anyone there? Buller?

3. Butts:
At the branding on Sunday, there were many helpers including myself labeled as "wrestlers"
Our job is to hold the calf down while they receive their shots, the brand, and the testicle removing procedure.
Some of the other wrestlers were rather large. Large meaning really tall and "big boned"?
You get the idea no?

Well every time these larger boys bent over to grab a calf, the world and all the bovine creatures saw their butts. (enter more dry heaving. sorry but they were big and hairy and very scary)
Let me just say for Christmas, I considered showering them with anonymous gifts of longer jeans and shirts!

When we got home and I showered and tried to drink away the memories, I looked at Ryan and felt new appreciation. His mouth is testicle free and his butt is covered. Thank you lord. Thank you.

Crazy Annoyed

Have you ever had a day where everything annoys the pants off you?

For some reason today, I'm so annoyed with everything. No seriously everything.
The phone. every email. printing documents. answering questions. the snow. I'm thirsty. my house. laundry. thinking. working. my husband. ugh this plus so much more is annoying today.

I'm not sure why either. I had a good, normal morning. I even managed to start a load of Laundry this morning. I haven't even seen my husband yet today and already I'm annoyed.... not a good sign. (you may want to pray for him tonight)

But as I'm sitting at work, getting call after call after call after call. Then email after email after email. I can feel the annoyance building, it feels like a pressure in my chest. And I'm afraid if that phone rings ONE more time, or that damn duck show up on my desk top saying "you have mail" ONE more time I will freak out, seriously I'm so annoyed and frustrated I could cry or scream or pull out my hair.

Thank goodness it's Friday. I'm so ready for a break. I wish I was in college, I would kill for spring break or even better summer break. Oh to be in college again.

I seriously need to go home and enjoy a glass of wine. Or a bottle, you know whatever helps. (I'm so glad I stocked up on my favorite wine)

Out of the Woods?

Le Sigh

Well last night I landed on the ground and it didn't hurt as much as I originally thought it would! This relieves me to no end, but I can't help but wonder if I'm really out of the woods yet. On the bright side, I fell and got right back up but just to be safe my fingers are still crossed.

They like me, they really really like me!
They asked me to help with Jr. High Track! WhooHoo! (I really am excited, that's not sarcastic typing!) (who is they?)

We have our first meet on Friday depending on the weather.... of course it's been snowing all day so.... chances are our first meet will be next week!

Snow Snow go away, never come back until next may.

I ordered my first School Sweatshirt On the back it will say "Coach Hamilton"
I'm so excited! Other school's coaches might actually think I'm a coach now instead of a player.
It's kind of funny the amount of times Ref's would ask me to get the coach....
"Um, I am the Coach."
"Oh really, I thought you were a player? You look so young."
"No, really I'm an adult do you want to see my driver's license?"
"Um, no no, just get your captions coach."

For Halloween I should dress up like a high school student.
Apparently I can dress like I always do and be golden!

falling

have you ever fell?
have you ever had your feet knocked out from under you?

have you ever fallen and before hitting the ground you think "Oh man this is going to hurt?"

Currently this is how I feel.
Someone has pulled the rug out from under my feet and I'm not sure how far and long I will fall but I know that when I do fall, it will hurt.

I just hope when things are said and done that I will be able to get up again.

Structure?

Do you have it?
Someone brought it to my attention that my post's are lacking it. Structure that is. I will keep the person's name a secret because giving it away would be rude right? No? Oh then.... It was totally my Sister.

And I asked "Well, what do you mean?"
The culprit said I ramble, and jump back and forth on different subjects.
Then I answered with
"You know what? It's my blog and I can cry if I want to.... nee neer nee neer! And I'm taller."
(I like to be mature and take the high road."

In all actuality I type as I think, nothing is pre-destined or though out here.
All my posts are live action thoughts, it's more interesting that way.
Oh and yeah, that's how I think in real life. Just ask my friends they will vouch for me.

Anyways I said that to then jump to this (keep up sister we are changing subjects again)

So do you have any siblings? Older, Younger?
I have both, which explains a lot. You have to be weird to get attention when you have a larger family and I learned this at an early age.
With my older siblings I was the test dummy, you know just the usual things.
Being hung from the roof by a rope, being dared to get all muddy and have to wash off in the horse tank. The list really could go on and on.

With my younger sister it was different, suddenly I had a puppet to play with.
Of course my only folly was she was "the Baby" now and got away with murder and pooping in the tub. Me and the younger sister have had our moments and it always revolves around a "Love/ Hate" relationship.
First I loved her, she was cute little and slept
Then we moved into we loved to hate each other category
Then we loved to play and then hate each other
Next came I loved to pick on her and hated getting in trouble for it. (Tattler)
Now that we are grown up, well older at least. We get along and love each other (Most of the time)
We are goofy together and usually laugh at some of the dumbest things.
I still like to embarrass her but now she just laughs cause I'm like so funny.
Really I can't be mad cause in the end, cause I'm still taller. (And really that's all that matters right? RIGHT??)

Now she is the last chick in the nest and I'm sure she's soaking it for all she can. (Don't lie I know you are.)
Oh how time flies but some things will always stay the same.
You will always have family and you will always have that same weird dynamic with them whether you are fighting about the floating brown turd in the tub or laughing until 11:30 at night.

Random thought: Cadbury Chocolate Eggs are just as good at 8:00 am as the are at 5:00 pm. Who knew?

Gloriousness

Today is a glorious day, even if it is Monday.
The sun is shinning, outside it's 68 (Still sweatshirt weather for me) But Ahhhh it's nice.
I'm at work, dreaming of a white beach with colored and fruity drinks with umbrella's.

I have a plan for dinner tonight! (That almost never happens)

Weekend Recap:

Saturday was the Girls Basketball Tournament. I'm happy to report they came out the champions. That's two championship trophy's under our belt's this year!
After the game we all went to pizza to celebrate where they announced to me that "I needed to coach track for them as well."
My response: "I'm going into hibernation and won't be available until volleyball season!"

Sunday there was a carnival held in town. In this carnival they had a dunk tank. (You know where there is a big tank of water and someone sits on the ledge. When someone hits the mark with the ball the person on the ledge gets dunked in the water.)
For some reason I was talked into being the person sitting on the ledge getting dunked.
However it was fun, the water was so warm it was nice. Like hot tub nice. The only torturous part was getting out of the water to sit on the ledge. I'm so glad I did it because now the little town in which I live by now knows how pretty I am when I'm soaked and shivering sitting on the ledge waiting to be dunked back in the water. (I'm sure I looked like a bald shivering wet rat with clothes on, it's okay though. I think this is a good look for me)

On the agenda this week?
Well I'm not really sure, there are basketball pictures tomorrow then the rest of the week I have nothing planned. Yup NOTHING and I LOVE IT.
This weekend, I think I'm going to fly by the seat of my pants. It'll be awesome.

Aren't you dying to know?

I made cookies last night!
I only baked 6 of them and put the rest of the dough in the fridge for tonight, but I did make the dough!

Today I was wondering around this place. They have lots of different things, however this place could be very very dangerous.
When I started spending some money in my head I slowly backed away and clicked the little X button in the top right hand corner. It was a close call.

Today it's snowing, this makes me sad. We are on winter storm warning until Thursday. Is it technically supposed to be a winter storm warning in the middle of spring?
This makes me want to move to Tahiti and drink cocktails by the pool or ocean ALL DAY. Of course that will never happen, unless some one buys me a place there. Any takers? Anyone? Anyone? Buller?
No? oh that's what I was afraid of.
(Funny story? At work just now, I got a "Vacations To Go" email. No seriously I just did and I deleted it. Why must they taunt me?? WHY?)

Tonight I'm going to finish baking my cookies and frost them and decorate them all pretty and then put them in bags and tie them off with pretty ribbons.
Then I'm going to give them away because my jeans can't get any tighter. New jeans aren't in the budget just yet.
I talked to my Mom today and she said I needed to eat more salad.
Um, do you even know me? Salad? All I do is drench it in Ranch anyways so it's just as fattening as chocolate. So I might as well just eat the chocolate from the beginning.
Plus I have grapes in my fridge Mom! GRAPES, and I ate a handful, see I'm healthy.
She must have noticed that my jeans were getting tight. Don't worry I'll get off the couch when it quits snowing. (This gives me another 4 months of sitting on the couch)

Seriously though, I'm going to be healthy I eat better in the summer for several reasons.
Fruit is in season and it's not nearly as expensive. (Weird you can't grow fruit in Montana year round) Plus it's hot out and you don't really want a 5 course dinner every night.
And (Mom are you reading this) there are nights in the summer where all we eat for dinner is SALAD! (and then my ice cream desert after but it's summer it doesn't count)
See I'm such a health nut aren't you proud Mom?

I think the world needs a drink

Well put Terry Clark well put.
It's Short, sweet, simple and to the point. And not to mention how I feel. About me and my world. In my world I have a few things that are quick fixes, chocolate or in general anything sweet, drinks (lately it's wine) Ramen noodles.
Do you have any quick fixes? Anything that if your world is falling down some small thing brings you hope, comfort and a full belly?
Do you realize when people are down we turn to food? Well I do, I wish I was one of those people that turns to working out, that would be awesome. I'm pretty sure it will never happen, I have no motivation when it comes to getting off the couch. (No really I don't unless its for VB open gym)

My life is stressful, wanna know how I know? I found a gray hair this morning! (Gray hairs make me want to cry)I pulled it and inspected it on the off chance it could've just been really blond.
I want hair like my Dad....wait let me rephrase that. I want to hold on to my hair color like my Dad, I want to keep my hair like my Mom. Dad is losing hair, not what I want, but he kept his hair color until he was sixty, this is what I want. My Mom still has a head full of hair, yes that's what I want, but she went gray really early, this thought makes me cry.
So maybe my life isn't so stressful and it's just in my genetic makeup for the stray gray's and receding hair line. (My hair line really isn't receding)
However it makes me feel better to blame it on stress. Cause if I move and go on permanent vacation the grays will stop all together! Good theory no?

Tonight is the night. The night for what?
Tonight is the night I will make the Easter cookies.
Wanna know how I know? I've been craving them all day!
Maybe I'll make a double batch of dough and bake and decorate them all tomorrow night. Good plan? I think so.

I wonder if it will stick this time.
Either way I'm getting my quick fix tonight, I have left over Easter Candy still!
I bought enough to last at least until next week.
Wouldn't it be funny if they (who are they?) came out with a new break through.
"Chocolate and in general things sweet create and generate gray hairs."
My world would be devastated. I don't think it would help though, I'd still eat it. It's like my protein.

Something to write about?

Whilst at work today.... yeah I'm still here!
I found this little gem. (No it isn't anything for my kitchen and no it isn't any type of clothing)

I found this blog called the Shabby Princess its funny and makes the day go faster!
Even better, I have found another one with the same sickness as me.
Spending money and trying to stay strong against the powers of Target, and grocery shopping, and pretty shoes.

I'm still sticking to my goals of saving my money for some big purchases, and to you know bed my accounts. It hasn't been easy but so far so good, and I'm proud of myself for showing such restraint.

If you are bored, need a funny story, or just waiting for the Maytag guy to finish fixing your washer take a look.

Weekend Recap

Did you miss me?
I've been gone for a while!
I had Thursday and Friday off work and I used that time to productively sit on the couch and not do much.
(I love when I get to do that)

Easter!
I hope everyone had a great holiday! I know I did, but I measured it in the amount of chocolate I ate. My Easter was good, rich with chocolate! My pants are kinda tight today... totally worth it!
Oh and our Easter dinner was BBQ Beef! It was good, but I only ate 1 sandwich cause I had been eating chocolate since 9:30 that morning!

I finally made my taquitos and I know they were good because I couldn't make them fast enough. I had to fight the boys off just to eat one of them.

Easter Cookies... I still have to make them. (I was busy catching up on the Girls Next Door and the Hills new season)
I swear though, I will make them! I have to because I bought all the stuff already.
I have realized about myself I'm a sucker for cute baking supplies i.e. sprinkles, cupcake liners, frosting, shaped pans. I'm working on it, I think I will go back to adoring shoes.
Famous Footwear was having a huge sale buy 1 pair get the 2nd 50% off.
I was so tempted to spend my gas money on shoes. So so tempted.
However, I was strong. I didn't give in.
But I did start spending my next paycheck on shoes, in my head of course.
Oh and there were some things in there from Forever 21 as well.

Wednesday night I hit the big money at the machines!
Okay, I put a dollar in! (The most I have ever put in and lost in one sitting is 5.00) But I won 12.70!!! I felt rich, I felt lucky. I took my winnings and washed my truck.
It's white again! It looks pretty again!
I think I made the car wash people mad, I squeezed in RIGHT before closing time. And they had to wash my mud caked truck. Sorry! But really good work!

Remember when I said we were getting nice weather if only for a week? I seem to know the weather patterns of Montana pretty well. Last week, beautiful weather!
This week's weather agenda?
Rain, Snow, Rain and Snow together, Rain, Snow, Rain, Snow, Rain and Snow together.
102 mph winds!
The weather man this morning said this "Today's weather is sunny with a chance of rain. Please take this with a grain of salt."
What does that mean? Here I'll translate "It's supposed to be nice, but due to the fact that we live in Montana it's going to rain and then probably snow. Have a good day."

This Week:
Basketball Tournaments start on Thursday!
I vow to have the cookies done by then so I can give them as "Good Luck" cookies.

Today is my...

100th POST

I wanted to do something with a little wow factor, something that would add pzazz.... The only problem?

I haven't a clue. So you'll have to settle for this pretty pink ink!
(Who am I kidding, I'm not sure this thing ever gets read? Tap Tap, anyone there? HELLO?!? Moving on)

I also want to Recap the day, the day I made my 100th post.
The weather: Nice, its 63 out
Work: I'm buried in paperwork
Basketball: The girls won last night. We are going to tournaments undefeated.
Food: I ate a banana for breakfast.
Thought of the day: Why do we drive on a parkway and park in a driveway?
Dreams: I want to be a horse, or a cow or a dog. Seriously when it's nice out and everyone is working what are they doing? They are laying in the sun soaking up the rays. (Only during the summer months that is) The rest of the time, let me be my cat. He is the laziest thing, I'm not mad about it either just jealous.

Plan for the rest of the day: Potentially Branding.
Then I'm off to make those dang taquitos, maybe.

On an unrelated topic, I just want to give a shout out.
"HI MOM"
No, totally kidding.

M.V. I'm Sorry. How are you doing? I hope things are well, I'm thinking of you and your family. The sun will come out tomorrow.

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Oh bother

I still have to finish those taquito's.
I still have to start and finish my Easter cookies.
I realize Easter is quickly approaching and my time is running short, but if it weren't for the last minute then nothing would ever get done!

The girls won last night, tonight we play Geraldine. Results to follow.

When I got home I saw something that sucked.
My precious economy sized bag of Kaiser Rolls.
There had to be at least 20 rolls in there.
Yeah, there are 2 left.
2 only 2.
When I get home from the game I'm sure they will be gone.
Damn the man and his lunch break.
Doesn't he realize I have a need for bread in my diet?
I suppose I could always have him go to pick up more...

I can't wait to put out all the stuff I got for Easter! I'm craving Easter candy like crazy.
I will sit on the couch all day and indulge on my carefully selected Easter candy.

In other news, the weather has finally decided to be nice! The snow and rain and wind have subsided if only for a week. It's 62 degree's out there right now!
In the words of Jake Owen.... YEEHAW!
Time for branding, hot dogs, Hamburgers, Ice cream and Margarita's!
(if only for a week at least!)

Weekend Recap

This weekend not much went on, but at the same time things were going down.

I decided to be like the rest of the community and I bought myself a membership to Sam's Club.

I strolled through their warehouse like store for about 2 hours. (Lots to look at)
And much to my dismay it was laid out exactly opposite then Costco...
I found myself heading the wrong way more then once.

I bought some small things that I knew we needed. (By we I mean something I wanted)
Ladies and Gentlemen the bakery (bread in particular) is GOOD.
I bought 2 huge loaves of French Bread and an economy sized bag of Kaiser Rolls.
(yes I am my Father's Daughter)
I have a weakness for bread and ice cream and cereal and milk.
And this concoction (I haven't had it for years) of peanut butter and syrup mixed together slapped on some bread and washed down with a tall glass of whole milk.
However my distaste for Spaghetti probably shames my Dad. (There are two other individuals in this world who share this distaste with me.)

I did indeed put all the groceries away. I hate putting groceries away, it's right up there with unloading the dishwasher. ugh.

The girls won this weekend. We have a game today and tomorrow. If the girls win both games we will go into tournament undefeated!

I cleaned the house, I'm so tired of doing that.
I told myself I would make taquito's.
Then I reasoned with myself and decided I will do it in stages over the week.

I told myself I would make sugar cookies for Easter.
Then I reasoned with myself and decided there is always tomorrow!

I did manage to wash the sheets, clean the kitchen, take the trash out, and let the chickens out, I think I folded 3 sweatshirts, I went grocery shopping, joined Sam's club and ate cereal. All in all I think it was a pretty good weekend and fairly productive.
Oh, I also ate 4.5 sandwiches on the wonderful kaiser rolls. Oh how I love bread.

The possiblilites are ENDLESS!!

Yesterday while browsing the Internets I found a fun cheeky little blog.
More importantly I found a super easy, really yummy recipe.
The best thing however is you can change this recipe up and make it into a gazillion different things.

I think every kitchen or recipe holder should have a recipe like this.

What you will need:

1 pkg./ container/ roll of Pillsbury Croissant rolls
*each container will make two

That's it.... no seriously that is it.
The important part, the filling.... that's the part that can be changed!
What you are really learning is the technique (I heard Rachel Ray say that one time.)
The Technique:
When you open the croissants they are all connected by two's. You should have 4 pieces.
You want to keep them this way.
You spoon whatever filling you desire onto the bottom piece.
Cover with the top piece and then you seal all the edges.
I topped mine with cheese!
Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 min. Or until golden brown.
Serve and bask in the glory of a quick fixed dinner.

Filling Ideas?

If you are feeling like BBQ:
1 lb ground beef (brown in a pan) or Shredded cooked chicken
Add:
1 Cup BBQ Sauce (I'm diggin Jack Daniels at the moment)
1 Tablespoon dried minced onion
Mix it all together and spoon onto the croissant dough.

Feelin like a Fiesta?
Cook the meat of your choice
Add taco seasoning and cheese.
Spoon onto the croissant dough
Serve with Sour Cream and Salsa

Want a little pizza?
spoon a little pizza sauce on bottom dough
Add pepperoni, canadian bacon, olives, anchovies whatever you desire
Don't forget the cheese
Cover with the top piece of croissant dough.

Can you get any easier? Seriously I don't think so.
I got home late last night (we went to basketball open gym)
I made these in seriously 20 minutes. They were so good and so easy.
Go forth and take on the world of easy peasy cuisine!

For the weekend I plan on making taquitos!
They do my body good.

Carmel Chocolate Shortbread

Are you proud of me? I remembered to bring the recipe with me today!!

Are you ready for this mouth watering brownie concoction? It will truly change your life and make your jeans tighter.

Prep:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a shallow square cake pan & line the bottom with parchment paper.

Makes 12

First Layer

Mix:

1 1/4 cup Flour

1/4 cup golden superfine sugar (I used olden day normal sugar)

4 0z unsalted butter (room temp)

Mix together (in food processor is best) until they begin to bind together.

Press the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 20-25 min or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and set aside.

Second Layer

In a pot add:

7 oz butter

1/2 cup golden superfine sugar (I used old forgotten sugar)

3 Tablespoons corn syrup

14 fl oz Sweetened condensed milk

Heat gently until the sugar is dissolved, then bring to a boil and simmer for 6-8 min stirring constantly, the mixture will become very thick and should begin to turn a Carmel color.

Pour the mixture over the first layer and smooth the top. Place in the refrigerator until firm.

Third Layer

Melt:

7 squares of Bittersweet Chocolate (or 1/2 bag of chocolate chips)

You can melt the chocolate in the microwave (Don't burn it or it will be ruined. Ruined I tell you!) Or you can place a heat proof bowl over a pan of gently simmering water, stirring constantly. Once melted spread the melted chocolate over the Carmel.

Chill in the fridge until set
Cut into 12 pieces with a sharp knife and serve and enjoy.

Repeat as necessary.
